Introduction

This guide shows you how to configure your PAx device. This works for A30, A35, Aries and others that use DC Direct. (not including the PAXA920)

Setup​

Device Setup​

  1. Swipe from the right of the screen or swipe up from the bottom.
  2. An arrow will appear. Enter the password Pax9876@@
  3. Use the Gear settings to connect to your wireless network.
  4. Select DC Direct, and download params.

POS Software Setup​

  1. From Settings on the submenu select the terminal you want to use the device with.
  2. Scroll down to the DC Direct settings
  3. Set the device tag = to the device name
  4. Set POSPackage = Pointless/3.1
  5. Set the Tran deviceID = the serial on the back of the device
  6. Set the Secure Device = CloudEMV

POS Settings​

  1. Go to Settings - Software & Hardware Settings
  2. Then Transaction Settings
  3. Enable DC Direct Integration

Tip Configuration (DSI EMV Settings)​

For PAX devices that support tip prompts (including the A920 handheld), tip percentage options are configured in the terminal's DSI EMV settings. Navigate to Settings → POS List → [Terminal Name] → DSI EMV Settings and set the multipleChoiceList field with the desired percentage values.

Each value in the list appears as a tip button on the payment screen. For example, entering 15, 18, 20, and 25 creates four tip percentage buttons plus an Additional Tip option for custom amounts.
