Pointless MCP
Pointless MCP is an AI assistant built into Pointless POS that reads your business data the way a person would — a supplier's product sheet, a vendor's purchase order, or a photo of a printed menu — and turns it into ready-to-use catalog data without templates or manual re-typing.
What Pointless MCP Does
- Import Menu — Build or rebuild a menu from a photo, website, or file. MCP reads prices, descriptions, and item choice prompts directly from what it sees, and can also edit an existing menu conversationally.
- Import Products — Load a supplier's product sheet, no matter its format. MCP maps its columns to your catalog fields automatically.
- Import Purchase Order — Hand MCP a vendor's purchase order and it reads the items, quantities, and prices into your inventory.
- Manage Discounts, Happy Hour & Specials — Update discounts, happy hour windows, and scheduled specials across one or several locations by describing the change in plain language.
How It's Different From a Template Import
Traditional imports need your file to match a specific template — the same column headers, same order, same format every time. Pointless MCP doesn't. It reads the sheet, photo, or document you actually have, figures out what each piece of information means, and matches it to your catalog. If something is missing — like a category, or a calculated price — MCP infers a reasonable value and flags it for your review before anything is saved.
Getting Started
Open the MCP assistant from within Pointless POS and describe what you want to do, in plain language — for example, "Import this menu from this photo" or "Load this supplier's product sheet." Provide the source file, photo, or link when asked. MCP will show you what it found before committing any changes to your catalog or inventory.
