Using Gift Cards at Checkout

Customers can apply a gift card balance toward any order at checkout. Gift cards can cover the full amount or be combined with other payment methods for partial payments.

Applying a Gift Card​

  1. Open the payment screen for the order.
  2. Click the Gift Card button.
  3. Enter or swipe the gift card number.
  4. The available balance is applied to the order:
    • If the balance covers the full order, the remaining balance is zero.
    • If the balance is less than the order total, the remaining balance can be paid with another method.
  5. Complete the transaction.

Gift Card Balance Button​

When the gift card balance exactly matches the order total, the payment button label changes to Gift Card Balance for quick single-tap payment.

Partial Payments​

If the gift card doesn't cover the full amount, the remaining balance stays open. Apply additional payment methods (cash, credit, etc.) to cover the rest.

Multiple Gift Cards​

Multiple gift cards can be applied to a single order. After applying the first card, the Gift Card button appears again if the remaining balance is still greater than zero.

Checking Gift Card Balance​

From the order screen, use the Gift/Store Credit Lookup function button (if configured in your function groups) to check a card's balance without applying it to an order.
