Kitchen Prep

The Kitchen Prep view organizes orders by preparation location and status, enabling multi-station kitchens, bars, and package prep areas to work efficiently.

Printer Location Filtering

The filter bar shows a toggle group for All plus one toggle per configured printer location. Locations display with contextual icons:

LocationIcon
Barblender
Kitchensoup kitchen
Baristacoffee

Clicking a location filter updates the order grid to show only orders routed to that printer location. All shows orders across every station.

Printer locations are configured in Settings → Printer Locations.

Prep Status Workflow

Orders move through three status stages, controlled by the Prep Status toggle:

Pending (0) — Orders just received, not yet started. The order card shows a Done button to mark all items as prepped.

Prepping (1) — Active preparation. Items are being worked on. The Done button marks items complete and advances to Ready.

Ready (2) — Preparation complete. The order card shows a Print button for final output and an Open button to review the full order.

Use the status toggle to filter the grid to a single stage, or leave on All to see every status.

Multi-Station Management

Combine location and status filters to isolate specific work. For example:

  • Kitchen + Pending — New kitchen orders not yet started
  • Bar + Prepping — Drinks currently being made
  • All + Ready — Orders from any station that are complete

The Refresh button re-queries the server to pull in new orders and updated statuses.

Expected Prep Time

When displayEstimatedPrepTime is enabled in transaction settings, the header shows an estimated prep time in minutes. For customer-facing screens, this also displays "This does not include delivery."

Scheduled Items

The Scheduled Items panel on the side aggregates item quantities across filtered orders. Use Show Prep List / Hide Prep List to toggle the panel.

The panel respects the current location and status filters, showing only items relevant to the active station and preparation stage. Columns:

  • Item — Product name
  • # — Quantity ordered
  • Stock — Stock count remaining

Buttons: Toggle list, Refresh, CSV export, Print/Save.

Scheduled Items Date Range

When orders have scheduled dates (scheduleDate_From / scheduleDate_To), the header displays the date range and the Scheduled Items panel reflects only orders within that window.

Show/Hide Prep List

The Show Prep List button toggles the scheduled items visibility. Useful for full-screen order card view during peak prep times.
