DataCap Payment Processing
DataCap provides EMV-compliant card processing through multiple integration methods. Each method is designed for different hardware and deployment scenarios. All DataCap processors share common configuration in the terminal's DC Direct Settings section and require enabling in Transaction Settings.
Terminal-Based Processors
These processors require a physical or software terminal assigned to a POS device.

PayAPI & Wallet Payments
DataCap PayAPI handles online card payments through a web interface. Apple Pay and Google Wallet run on top of the PayAPI integration. All three are enabled in Transaction Settings and share the same DataCap merchant credentials.

Shared Configuration Fields
All DataCap terminal-based processors share these terminal settings fields, configured under Settings > POS List > [Terminal] > DC Direct Settings:

Common Setup Steps
- Configure the terminal — Assign a terminal in Settings > POS List, then fill in the DC Direct Settings fields specific to your device type.
- Download parameters — Use the Param Download button to push configuration to the device.
- Enable in Transaction Settings — Navigate to Settings > Software & Hardware > Transaction Settings and enable the relevant DataCap option:
- DC Direct Integration (for PAX A30/A35/Aries)
- DC Direct Android (for Android EMV / Soft POS)
- DataCap PayAPI (for online payments, Apple Pay, Google Wallet)
- Test a transaction — Use the testing controls in the DC Direct Settings panel to verify connectivity.
