DataCap DC Direct
DC Direct integrates PAX payment terminal hardware (A30, A35, Aries) for in-person card processing using the DC Direct protocol. The pin pad connects over the network.

Device Setup
Prepare the PAX device before configuring the POS:
- Swipe from the right or up on the PAX device screen.
- Enter password:
Pax9876@@ - Use Gear settings to connect the device to your wireless network.
- Select DC Direct and download parameters.
Terminal Assignment
- Navigate to Settings > POS List.
- Select the terminal you want to use the PAX device with.
- Scroll to the DC Direct Settings section.
- Configure the following fields:

| POS Package ID | Pointless/3.1 |
| Tran Device ID | Serial number on the back of the PAX device |
| Secure Device | CloudEMV |
| Merchant ID | Your DataCap merchant ID |
| Host Or IP | Your DataCap host IP or hostname |
| IP Port | Network port (provided by DataCap) |
| PinPad IP Port | Pin pad communication port (typically 1235) |
- Toggle Enable to activate DC Direct for this terminal.
- Save the terminal settings.
Downloading Parameters
After initial configuration, push the parameters to the device:
- In the DC Direct Settings panel, click Param Download.
- Wait for confirmation that the parameters were accepted.
Testing
The DC Direct Settings panel includes testing controls:
- Sale — Process a test sale with tip prompt.
- Sale No Tip — Process a test sale without tip prompt.
- Refund — Process a test refund.
- Reset Device — Reset the pin pad to factory defaults.
- Cancel Transaction — Cancel an in-progress transaction.
Enabling in Transaction Settings
- Navigate to Settings > Software & Hardware > Transaction Settings.
- Enable DC Direct Integration.
- Save the transaction settings.
Additional Options
The DC Direct Settings panel provides these toggles:
- Partial Auth — Allow partial authorization when the full amount cannot be approved.
- Confirm Amount — Prompt the user to confirm the transaction amount before sending to the device.
- V2 — Enable version 2 of the DC Direct protocol.
- Pre Dip — Enable pre-dip functionality.
- Suppressed Forms — Suppress receipt forms on the device.
