Print Server
The print server allows one device to handle all printing requests from other terminals. This is useful for handheld devices, e-commerce orders that auto-print, and centralized prep station printing.
Setup
- Navigate to Settings → Transaction Settings via the sidebar menu
- Select the terminal that will act as the Print Server from the list
- Click the button next to the Print Server to open that terminal's settings
- Enable the Print Server toggle
- Set the timer to
15seconds (adjust later for a different check frequency)
Sending to Print Server
From any terminal that should send print jobs to the server:
- Open Settings → Terminals
- Select the terminal
- Enable Print to Server
- Enable Print to Prep
Once configured, print requests from those terminals are routed to the designated print server device.
Use Cases
- E-commerce orders — Auto-print incoming web orders to a centralized printer
- Handheld devices — Send receipt and label prints from mobile POS units
- Prep stations — Route kitchen tickets to a dedicated printing terminal
