House Accounts Overview
House Accounts let you place orders for customers who pay on a delayed schedule instead of at the time of sale. This is common for corporate accounts, hotel rooms, and recurring business customers.
How It Works
- A customer is assigned a House Account client type.
- An order is created with that customer assigned.
- Items are added to the order as normal.
- Instead of charging the customer immediately, the order is suspended to the house account balance by clicking the House Account button.
- Later, the suspended order is opened and settled with an actual payment (cash, credit card, etc.).
Key Behaviors
- The House Account button only appears when the assigned customer has a "House Account" client type.
- Only staff users with the
houseAccountPaymentauthorization can use the House Account button. - The House Accounts List shows all pending house account orders, searchable by company or last name, with the current outstanding balance.
- Multiple house account orders can be merged into a single order before settlement.
